For the first time, the awards coincided with National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, a deliberate choice to highlight not only the honored carriers but the dedication of drivers who keep freight moving every day.

In 2024 alone, the winning carriers collectively handled nearly 2 million loads for C.H. Robinson, demonstrating the scale of their contribution to the supply chain. The honorees range from small, single-truck operations to fleets operating thousands of vehicles, showing excellence at every level of the industry.

“These carriers exemplify the best in the industry,” said Michael Castagnetto, president of North American Surface Transportation at C.H. Robinson. “But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I also want to recognize the 360 other COYA nominees and the entirety of our 450,000+ carrier network. They help us and our customers succeed every day. We are proud to honor them for another year of exceptional achievements.”

Celebrations in Minnesota

Representatives from the winning carriers,  including drivers, managers, and company leadership, joined in on festivities hosted by C.H. Robinson. Events included a Minnesota Twins game, where winners received customized “Carrier of the Year” jerseys, along with a special visit to the company’s Eden Prairie, Minnesota, headquarters.

The Backbone of U.S. Freight

Truck drivers are essential to the U.S. economy, responsible for moving roughly 11 billion tons of cargo each year—an astonishing 72% of the nation’s freight. These professionals often spend around 240 nights away from their families annually, ensuring that goods reach their intended destinations.

“Every day we’re grateful to truck drivers for their unwavering commitment to one of the most challenging and crucial jobs,” said Michael Castagnetto, president of North American surface transportation for C.H. Robinson. “This week especially, we want drivers to hear our appreciation and the world’s appreciation. We thank you for every hour on the road. Our lives wouldn’t be the same without you.”

Honoring Their Dedication

This year, C.H. Robinson is honoring truck drivers through various initiatives:

• In-Person Celebrations:

  The company is hosting events in 13 cities across the United States and Mexico. These celebrations, held at company, customer, and carrier locations, are opportunities for employees to express gratitude by sharing food, care packages, and tokens of appreciation with drivers. In collaboration with the St. Christopher Truckers Fund, C.H. Robinson will also distribute health and wellness packets, offering valuable resources to help drivers manage the physical demands of their profession. Carriers in Latin America and Europe will also receive expressions of thanks.

• Social Media Campaign:

  Under the hashtag #ThankATruckDriver, C.H. Robinson encourages everyone to show their gratitude on social media. For each post tagged during the appreciation week, the C.H. Robinson Foundation will donate $10—up to $50,000—to the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, which supports truck drivers in times of need.

• Increased Donations:

  Adding a new layer to their philanthropy, the C.H. Robinson Foundation will donate an additional $15 to the St. Christopher Fund for every hour employees volunteer for Truck Driver Appreciation Week activities.

Robinson. “These events are a wonderful opportunity to meet and personally thank drivers for their invaluable contributions.
